OC Camera – Camera Club Show

Currently, the well-known photographer Dennis Keely, who specializes in celebrated rock musicians, is displaying his great images.

This show at the gallery is a good opportunity to get your images “out and about” in a professional setting.

OC Camera can help find those illusive buyers, or ‘gasp’ even an art patron for your work!

How to Submit Your Images

Submit all images for consideration by the jury panel in digital format, not to exceed 2mb file size per image.

Up to five (5) images may be submitted.

Image Guidelines

There is no size limit, and there is no limitation on subject, point of view, or type of photographic image including composites, painted images, collages, fantasy, AI, and whatever is in your imagination.

The images have to be framed or mounted, no loose prints.

Images must to be mounted in a gallery/museum manner. No gator board mounts, no matte board only mounts. Images cannot look like posters, they have to be finished and presentable as fine art. Metal mounted prints are allowed, as are wood, high quality acrylic, resin, anything gallery quality.

However, ultimately it is up to the way the individual artist wants to present the work.

Juried Submission

Images will be jury reviewed by three professional photographers – two from the Camera Club, and the owner of OC Camera, Roozbeh Pirghibi.

Accepted artists will be notified by Friday November 10th.

The artists must CONFIRM their intent to participate with their accepted entry by Monday November 13th, 5PM.

Accepted and confirmed images must be printed, framed, and ready to hang by December 15th, 2023.

Accepted Images

Members may display one (1) image in the show, selected by the maker from their approved images.

Based upon the number of submissions for the show, it is possible that members may display more than one image.

In this situation, these additional images will be randomly selected from the pool of accepted images, and distributed equitably amongst the submitting members.

Image Labels

All the pieces need to have a nameplate, with the title of the piece, the maker’s name, and the price for that image.

Besides the nameplates, and there will be a printed price list. The Camera Club will produce the nameplates so that they all look the same.

Gallery Walls

There are ten 6×8 foot walls. Two 5×8 foot walls and the back wall is roughly 10×20 feet. All the walls need to be filled.

Camera Club artists will install all their own work. OC Camera will provide one drill and one step stool, so bring tools as needed. The Camera Club artists will also be responsible for any mounting supplies.

Sales

If a piece sells, it has to stay up until the show comes down, unless the artist has a second copy to replace it.

All payments will typically be made after the show comes down.

OC Gallery will retain 40% of sales price as commission. Base your image prices accordingly.

Artists Opening

OC Camera provides an “Artists Opening” during the course of their shows.

Beverages, including wine, and light food is provided by the gallery.

The opening and show are promoted by OC Gallery via their publications, and mailing lists, and is open for the Club to promote and publicize as we wish.

The artists are to be present at the opening in order to meet the pubic, and help will questions about their work.

Past openings have been relaxed, fun, and well attended.
